In an alleged flu vaccine inoculation, Warren received a nanotechnology solution that replaced his reproductive DNA with Bruce Wayne’s. A year later, Terry McGinnis was born as the genetic son of Mary and Bruce. Originally part of the DC Animated Universe, the success of Batman Beyond guaranteed the presence of Terry McGinnis in the comic books as part of a possible future of the DC multiverse.
